The Middle East ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz are on extremely shaky ground. The Israelis are desperate and will do whatever they can to reignite the war, Professor Seyed Mohammad Marandi has told RT India.

Iran Accused Israel and The U.S. Of Violating The Ceasefire

Marandi is blaming the “desperation” to end the ceasefire and reignite the war on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“But right now there is a spoiler, and that is Netanyahu,” he added. Pointing to the pounding of Lebanon by Israeli forces, Marandi said that “this means the commitments given by the United States are not being fulfilled. And that means that we could have a continuation of the crisis.”

Marandi also claimed that Iran wants to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but that’s going to depend on what the U.S. and Israel do with regard to the ceasefire.

“That is what we want. We did not start this. We were doing business as usual until this imposed war by the Trump and Netanyahu regimes took place,” Marandi added. “But we’ll have to see, because Netanyahu is violating the ceasefire agreement.”

Marandi said Iran will also watch the American stance at the negotiating table, and see if “Netanyahu and the Zionist regime are able to wreck” the ceasefire. “I have no doubt that the Zionist lobby and the Israeli regime will do whatever they can to make sure this war reignites,” he said.

The countries in the Persian Gulf that hosted US bases and facilitated attacks on Iran “have Iranian blood on their hands… They are complicit in this war. And they betrayed their own people,” Marandi stated. –RT

Recently, JD Vance, the U.S. Vice President, said that the peace talks with Iran have failed, and that could mean that the ceasefire will be all but over before it can even begin.
