I’ve been running USA Carry since 2007. In that time I’ve owned a lot of guns, put a lot of rounds downrange, and tried a lot of ways to keep track of it all. For years, the best system I had was a spreadsheet.

It worked. A spreadsheet can track anything if you’re willing to set it up and keep it updated. But it wasn’t built for this. There’s no automatic round count deduction when you log a session, no service interval alerts, no way to attach a photo or a receipt, no encryption for serial numbers. Every feature I wanted required either a complex formula or a workaround. I wanted something built specifically for gun owners — faster, smarter, and purpose-built for the way we actually think about our firearms.

So I built one.

What Is Armorer?

Armorer is a firearm maintenance tracker for iPhone. Android and iPad apps coming soon! It does what the spreadsheet was trying to do, but built as a native iOS app from the ground up. If you own guns and shoot them regularly, this app was built for you.

Here’s what it tracks:

  • Round Counts — Log every range session with ammo details including manufacturer, type, and grain weight. Running totals update automatically for every firearm in your collection.
  • Service Intervals — Set cleaning and maintenance intervals by round count or time. Armorer notifies you seven days before service is due and shows a banner on the gun detail screen when something is overdue. Think of it like oil change reminders for your guns.
  • Maintenance History — A complete service log for every firearm you own. Know exactly what was done, when it was done, and how many rounds ago. If you ever sell a gun, you have a complete record to show the buyer.
  • Modifications Tracker — Log every aftermarket part you install. Triggers, barrels, sights, grips, slides, frames — document what makes each gun yours with the brand, model, date installed, and notes.
  • Gear and Accessories — Track optics, lights, lasers, and other accessories with their own service intervals. Set battery replacement reminders. Attach gear to a specific firearm or manage it standalone.
  • Ammo Inventory — Track your stock by brand, caliber, type, and grain weight. Set a low stock alert per ammo type so you know when to reorder. When you log a range session, Armorer automatically deducts the rounds from your inventory.
  • Photos and Documents — Add photos to any firearm, gear, or ammo entry. Attach receipts, warranties, and documents for insurance records and resale. All photos are automatically stripped of GPS and location data before uploading.
  • Zero-Knowledge Encryption — This one matters, and I want to be specific about it. Serial numbers in Armorer are encrypted using AES-256-GCM with a key derived from your password. That means only you can read your serial numbers. I cannot read them. Nobody with access to our servers can read them. This isn’t marketing language — it is how the encryption works mathematically.

Built for Gun Owners by a Gun Owner

I carry every day. I do my own maintenance. I know how gun owners think about their data and their privacy, and I built Armorer accordingly.

There are no ads in the app. Your data will never be sold, shared, or used for advertising. Photos are stripped of GPS data automatically. You can delete your account and all data permanently from inside the app at any time with no email required.

I built this because I wanted it to exist. Not as a product experiment — as a tool I’d actually use. Every feature in Armorer came from a real problem I had managing my own collection.

How to Get Started

Armorer is available now on the App Store for iPhone. The app includes a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. After the trial, a monthly or yearly subscription is available — you can see current pricing on the App Store or inside the app.

Armorer is currently iPhone only. An iPad version and Android version are both in development.
