United States President Donald Trump has claimed that he is expecting to sign the US-Iran peace deal today (Sunday, June 14th), opening the Strait of Hormuz to all vessels. The Pakistani prime minister has said that both sides have already agreed to the text of the agreement; however, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is still pushing back on some sticking points.

Qatari negotiators made their way to Tehran this morning to help facilitate the finalization of the agreement.

According to a diplomat with knowledge of Iran-U.S. diplomacy, as reported by CBS News, should both sides sign the deal as expected, the Strait of Hormuz will reopen immediately.

In a statement that Trump posted to Truth Social, he said that his deal was the “exact opposite” of the deal made by Barack Obama with Iran.

Barack Hussein Obama’s Deal with Iran, the JCPOA, was an easy, beautiful, smooth road to a Nuclear Weapon, which Iran would have had six years ago, and would have used long before now.

My Agreement with Iran is the exact opposite, A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON!

In fact, they no longer want a Nuclear Weapon, nor will they have one, either through purchase, development, or any other form of procurement.

The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL.

The Strait of Hormuz will not open immediately, however. It looks like there are caveats in the agreement that indicate a slow opening will occur.

Contained within the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signing the deal will reportedly extend the April 7th ceasefire by 60 days, during which the Strait of Hormuz would gradually reopen, rather than an immediate passage for all vessels.

This could prolong the aggressively high fuel prices for several more months.

The peace deal could be official during a formal ceremony held in Geneva, according to a report by CNN.

Further reporting by CNN claims that both Iran and the US have conflicting timelines and accounts of what this agreement actually says.
