“We’re pretty much just throwing everything at this that we can. Guthrie is 84 years old and is not of good physical health, and so naturally that’s a great concern,” Nanos said. “This is very concerning to us. We don’t typically get the sheriff out at a scene like this. But it’s very concerning what we’re learning from the house.”

Nanos said during a news conference that Nancy Guthrie didn’t leave the house on her own accord, adding that a crime had been committed. He said the search and rescue mission had been shut down to give that team time to rest.

“We believe now, after we processed that crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime scene that we do, in fact, have a crime,” Nanos said. “She did not leave on her own. We know that.”

“We don’t see this as a search mission as much as we do a crime scene,” he added.

Nanos noted that Nancy Guthrie has limited mobility and has medication that she needs to take every 24 hours, which could be fatal if not taken. He said Nancy Guthrie “is of great sound mind” besides her physical ailments, adding she’s “sharp as a tack.”

Federal authorities reaffirm a $50,000 reward for information related to Guthrie’s disappearance.

Friday evening:

FBI investigators return to Guthrie’s home, swiftly clearing the media from the immediate area. They search the property again, including a sweep of the roof.

Authorities later remove a blue SUV from Guthrie’s garage and tow it to an impound lot.

Details about why the car was towed were not released.

Around the same time, more law enforcement officials return to the home of Annie Guthrie, Nancy’s eldest daughter. They spend only a few minutes on the property before promptly returning.

President Donald Trump tells reporters aboard Air Force One that he believes the case could soon be solved.

“I think we’re doing very well on that regard,” Trump said. “We have some clues, I think, that are very strong. And I think we could have some answers coming up fairly soon.”

“I’m talking about a solution. We have some things I think that will maybe come out reasonably soon from DOJ or FBI, or whoever,” he continued. “It could be definitive.”

Saturday, Feb. 7:

Saturday, Feb. 7 at about 4:30 p.m.:

Savannah Guthrie shares a new video on her Instagram account telling her mother’s potential captors the family received their “message,” and they “will pay.”

“We received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her,” Savannah Guthrie said. “This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

During the video, Savannah Guthrie was sitting between her siblings, Camron and Annie, holding their hands.

The family had previously posted two other videos pleading with the potential captors for her return.

All three videos were captioned, “Bring her home.” However, unlike in the previous posts, the family did not request proof of life in the latest video.

It is unclear if the video is a response to the “new message” received by a local news station on Friday.

Pima County Sheriff’s Department deputies are spotted at Guthrie’s home.

Monday, Feb. 9:

Monday morning:

NBC’s Tom Winter, NBC News national law enforcement and intelligence correspondent, reported on “Today” that investigators were conducting additional searches to check if there was any potential evidence missed during previous searches.

He also reported that a Saturday night search at Annie Guthrie’s home “was consented to.”

Monday, Feb. 9 at 3:42 p.m.

Savannah Guthrie took to her own Instagram account to ask the public to help bring her mother home.

“Thank you so much for all of the prayers and the love that we have felt,” Guthrie said.

“My sister and brother and I and our mom have felt this love, because we believe that somehow, somehow, she is feeling these prayers and that God is lifting her, even in this moment and in this darkest place.”

“We believe our mom is still out there,” she added.

“We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home, trying to find her.

“She was taken, and we don’t know where. And we need your help,” she said.

Pima County Sheriff’s officials announced on their X account that no briefings were planned ahead of the alleged ransom deadline.

“Should a significant development occur, a press conference will be called, & media will be notified via email & our @pimasheriff X account,” the post read.

Monday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m.

The second alleged ransom deadline passes in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

Following the deadline, the sheriff’s office also confirmed an “active law enforcement presence” at the Guthrie residences will continue tonight and into tomorrow as part of the ongoing investigative process, including the expansion of the search and follow-up on new leads.

Friday, Feb. 13:

Pool cleaners were seen leaving the backyard of Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson home Friday, according to images captured by Fox News Digital. A Pima County Sheriff’s deputy and two other individuals were also observed near the pool area.

Sheriff Nanos defended his department’s decision to release the home back to Guthrie’s family, saying investigators had already collected the evidence they needed.

Nanos confirmed investigators recovered DNA from the scene that does not belong to 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, calling it a key focus of the investigation. The biological evidence is being analyzed at a contracted forensic lab in Florida, using elimination markers from those connected to the home to narrow possible matches.

A glove being tested as potential evidence was not found at Guthrie’s home but about two miles away during expanded search operations.

Despite the developments, Nanos emphasized authorities still consider the case a rescue mission.

The Pima County Sheriff’s mobile command center has rolled out from the scene, and a SWAT vehicle normally parked behind the building is no longer in place. The last time those vehicles moved, a person of interest was detained and later released in Rio Rico. Nanos declined to comment on SWAT or bomb squad activity, citing officer safety, saying “a lot is happening right now.”

Saturday, Feb. 14:

The FBI said that gloves found about two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home appear to match that of the suspect seen on Guthrie’s doorbell camera. The federal law enforcement group received the preliminary results on Saturday, and are awaiting quality control and official confirmation before putting the unknown male profile into CODIS, the bureau’s national DNA database.

Sunday, Feb. 15:

“I wanted to come on, and um, it’s been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope, and we still believe,” Savannah Guthrie said. “And I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is that it’s never too late, and you are not lost or alone.”

Monday, Feb. 16:

Monday, Feb. 16 at 3:50 p.m.:

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement on X ruling out Guthrie family members as suspects in the case.

“To be clear…the Guthrie family  –  to include all siblings and spouses –  has been cleared as possible suspects in this case,” Nanos said in a Monday afternoon statement. “The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case.

“To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel,” he added. “The Guthrie family are victims plain and simple…please, I’m begging you the media to honor your profession and report with some sense of compassion and professionalism.”

Tuesday, Feb. 17:

Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 1:42 p.m.:

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced that gloves believed to belong to the unnamed suspect in the case did not match any data in CODIS.

“DNA evidence from gloves found approximately 2 miles from the house was submitted to a lab in Florida and to CODIS this morning,” said a press release from the department. “There were no DNA hits in CODIS. At this point, there have been no confirmed CODIS matches in this investigation.”

Authorities also said they were working attempting to locate Nancy’s pacemaker and are working with the manufacturer “and other experts in the field” to that end.

They also reiterated that they are working with Walmart to track the individual who purchased the black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack worn by the suspect.
