Glock Unveils New A-CUT Optic Models with Pre-Installed Aimpoint Red Dots

A few days ago, I received an email from my contact at Glock telling me that something new was “coming soon.” All I could tell from the email was that it was some type of collaboration between Glock and Aimpoint. So it was obviously a pistol/red dot combo, but that was about it. I didn’t get any more specifics. So I, of course, replied to get added to the T&E list (Testing and Evaluation) for whatever it was they were releasing.

Fast forward to this morning when I received an email from Glock Marketing announcing this new collaboration between Glock and Aimpoint. What they released today were five popular 9mm Glock models that have a new optic cut, what they are calling the A-CUT interface (A for Aimpoint). The A-CUT interface allows the ultra-compact Aimpoint COA options to be installed directly on the slide. But you won’t have to be the one mounting it. This optic comes pre-installed from the factory.

They will be available to be purchased on January 20, 2025, in limited quantities, according to the marketing email I received. Below are the available models and MSRP.

Glock X Aimpoint Models and MSRP Pricing

  • G48 – MSRP: $1,002
  • G43x – MSRP: $1,002
  • G19 – MSRP: $1,165
  • G47 – MSRP: $1,165
  • G45 – MSRP: $1,165

Here’s a video Aimpoint released with more info on the COA red dot:

So, is this what I was expecting? A new optic cut specifically for one red dot? Not at all. But I think it looks like a great package for someone who plans on buying a Glock with a red dot without needing the tools to install it themselves. Sure, you can get your local gun store, gunsmith, or a friend with the right tools (torque wrench) to install a red dot for you. But some people will just like the ease of buying a complete package without having to decide on the red dot, then get the correct optic plate, figure out which screws you need, and then have it mounted.

Reading through some YouTube and Reddit comments, I see that there are people ready to get their wallets out, and others hate the fact that they just made another proprietary optic cut. Well, you can please everyone! What do you think? Is this something you would consider buying? Do you already have your wallet out waiting for January 20?

I heard back from my contact as I was writing this article that they shipped out the G43X model today. So be on the lookout for a full review and some videos of the Glock and Aimpoint combo in action. For more information on these models, check out the Glock x Aimpoint website.
