LAS VEGAS, NV (3-minute read) — A disturbing incident on the Las Vegas Strip Sunday night left two individuals dead and one suspect in custody, in what police say was a confrontation sparked by a social media feud.

Las Vegas Metro Police officers were on patrol around 10:40 p.m. when they heard multiple gunshots coming from the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard. Rushing toward the sound, they discovered two individuals who had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

According to Undersheriff Andrew Walsh, investigators quickly identified a suspect, 41-year-old Manuel Ruiz, who later turned himself in to Henderson Police. He is facing two counts of open murder and is currently held at the Clark County Detention Center.

LVMPD officials said that the victims and suspect were previously entangled in an online dispute, which appears to have played out across multiple social media platforms. Authorities believe this confrontation between two known personalities—”Sin City Manny” and “Finny Da Legend”—eventually escalated into the fatal shooting, parts of which were livestreamed before being taken offline.

The part of livestreamed video showing the shooting can be found below:

The Importance of Situational Awareness and Having a Plan

This tragic event underscores the importance of personal safety and being aware of your surroundings, especially in public areas known for crowds and nightlife. Conflicts that start online can rapidly escalate into dangerous, real-world confrontations. If you’re out at night or in busy areas like the Las Vegas Strip, it’s crucial to have a personal safety plan. This includes knowing where exits are, staying in well-lit areas, and avoiding engaging with strangers in escalating situations.

Concealed carry permit holders should also be aware of the laws and responsibilities that come with carrying a firearm in public. Defensive firearms are tools of last resort, meant to protect life—not escalate tensions.

Safety Tip: Always have a personal safety plan when in public places. Stay alert, trust your instincts, and know how to de-escalate or exit a situation before it turns dangerous.
